SENSIBLE HEAT STORAGE

The group studies the storage of energy by sensible heat process using liquid or solid materials. The research is mainly focused on molten salt based systems for concentrated solar power applications. At the same time different materials and modifications are tested by computational simulations. Different approaches are studied in order to obtain systems with better thermodynamic and themo-physical properties. New salts formulation and new fluids will be developed to use as both heat transfer fluids and as the storage material.
