Board Members

CIC Energigune’s board members are public and private organisations (administrations, companies, associations, research centres, etc.) based in the Basque Country. They are all leaders in large-scale energy technology both in Spain and abroad. Each one makes its own contribution by making the project stronger, providing a global point of view and an estimate of the actual needs that need to be met in the field of energy. Corporación Mondragón

Corporación Mondragón

Leading corporate group in the Basque Country and largest cooperative in the world. It has more than 250 companies and 85,000 workers in the financial, industrial and distribution sectors, as well as in the research and training areas.

Iberdrola

Iberdrola

Energy group and global services operator based on the Basque Country. Net profit in 2009 of €2.824 billion. Produces 205 000 GWh around the world for 23 million clients and has more than 33,000 employees.

EVE

Basque Government energy agency that provides a service to the Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism in the field of energy and geological-mining resources. It currently focuses on renewable energy projects such as mini hydraulic power stations, waste-based biogas plants and thermal and photovoltaic power plants. In 2009 it had almost 700 facilities subsidised and investment totalled around €15 million.

Consultancy, engineering and system integration firm with more than 1,500 employees and 8 branches in Algeria, Argentina, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Mexico, Poland and Portugal. The firm operates on four continents, in the field of space, architecture, civil engineering, energy, naval engineering and aeronautics. Its Engineering and Systems turnover exceeds €175 million.

One of the leading international wind turbine manufacturers in the world and number one in Spain in manufacturing, selling and installing wind turbines. In 2007 the company's sales stood at €274 million and its workforce at almost 7,000 employees, 30% outside Spain.

Naturgas

Energy group that specialises in supplying, distributing and marketing natural gas carries out transportation and gas distribution activities and sells gas and electricity. It has its own infrastructures in seven autonomous regions around Spain and has a network of gas pipelines totalling more than 5,500 kilometres. In 2009 it recorded more than 9,000 kilometres in own infrastructures and turnover of €1.03 billion. It employees more than 300 workers and is part of HC Energía, in the EDP Group.
