LUIS GONZALEZ FERNANDEZ

Presentation

Dr. Luis González studied Physics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), collaborating during his last year with the Infrared Spectrometry group of the Condensed Matter Physics department. During this period, he focused on the analysis of the calibration methods for direct emissivity measurements. He developed his Ph.D. in the same group, under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Tello and Dr. Raúl B. Pérez, applying the emissivity measurements to the study of materials. The aim of his research was the study of the radiative properties of materials with technological interest in real working conditions, mainly for aeronautical and machining applications. He completed the Ph.D. in September 2013. After obtaining his Ph.D. he held a postdoctoral position at the Conditions Extrêmes et Matériaux Haute Température et Irradiation (CEMHTI-CNRS) laboratory in Orléans (France). He worked, under the supervision of Dr. Catherine Bessada, within the EUROSUNMED European project, analyzing the suitability of natural stones for being used as thermal storage material in CSP plants. Since June 2016 he is a postdoctoral researcher of the Thermal Energy Storage area at CIC EnergiGUNE.
