We are currently accepting applications for the position of TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR in the field of ELECTROCHEMICAL ENERGY STORAGE (EES), which will be responsible for the development of new technologies for batteries and electrochemical energy storage devices.



Reporting to the General Manager and in close collaboration with the Scientific Director and the Market Development Manager, the Technology Manager will actively collaborate in the orientation of the Centre towards the needs of the business network of the Basque Country, leading and managing key projects that ensure and contribute to the technological excellence of the Centre, as well as promoting and seeking new growth niches and opening up new opportunities for the development of the Centre in the field of electronic storage.


The Technology Manager of the EES area has the following functions:

  • To collaborate with the other Managers in the achievement of the Centre's objectives.
  • To support the Scientific Direction in the accomplishment of excellent technological research of the Centre.
  • To support the groups and lines of research, jointly with the Scientific Director and the Market Development Management, in the development of the itinerary that goes from the basic research to the transference of results.
  • Leading, planning, and coordinating the groups/lines of technological research closest to the market to ensure transfer paths.
  • To coordinate with the Market Development Department, the relationship with research centers, companies, and international research platforms.

What we need

We are looking for a person with a high level of commitment, results-oriented, able to negotiate effectively, with great leadership and teamwork skills, who meets the following requirements.

  • Ph.D. in Engineering (Chemistry, Materials, Electronics, ..), Physical Sciences, Chemistry.
  • Proven track record over five years, in positions of responsibility in the area of technological research, ideally in agents of the Basque network and companies.
  • High domain of the variables of the sector/market.
  • Substantial knowledge of Energy Storage Systems.
  • Ability to define strategies at the level of technological research.
  • Experience as principal researcher in R&D projects (EU, national), both in industry and in research agents.
  • Experience working with national and international agents, with related Associations, as well as with the business network of the Basque Country in the field of energy.
  • Proven ability to lead the research activity closest to the market, as well as to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Essential high level of English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages, mainly Basque, would be an asset.
