Dr. Carmen M. Lopez is a specialist in
morphology-property relationships for advanced electrode materials used in
electrochemical and photoelectrochemical devices. She joined CIC Energigune
after completing a 1 year appointment as a post-doctoral research associate at
ZSW-Zentrum fur Sonnenenergie-und Wasserstoff-Forschung (Centre for Solar Energy
and Hydrogen Research) in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, where she worked on the
development of metrology methods for the analysis of commercial batteries. Previous to joining ZSW, Dr. Lopez had
post-doctoral appointment in the Battery Group at Argonne
National Laboratory in Illinois, USA, investigating the interphasial properties
of metallic lithium electrodes for used in advanced batteries for
transportation. She obtained her Ph.D.
in Inorganic Chemistry and Electrochemistry from Purdue University, Indiana,
USA, and a bachelor degree in Chemistry from the Interamerican University of
